As a Salt Lake City company, one of our great joys is having the privilege to assist the fine people of Draper and surrounding areas with their health and wellness needs.
And this holiday season, we want you to remain healthful, fit, and strong. So here are 3 tips to keep you and your body robust and vibrant throughout the holidays.
-
Keep Up With Exercise
The holidays are a great time to unwind with friends and family. But for many people, they can also become a great excuse to slack off in important areas that need their attention. And exercise is a perfect example of this.
Countless people think of the holidays as a break from taking care of themselves. They completely abandon their exercise regime, and when this happens, it becomes really difficult to get back into the swing of things come the new year.
So while the holidays are certainly a good time to let your foot off the gas a little — just remember you don’t want to completely fall off with your exercise habits.
-
Moderate Your Workouts
If you’re one who truly likes to let loose during the holidays, that’s fine, enjoy this time. However, be sure that you’re still doing something to keep yourself “in the game” in regards to your health and fitness.
Whether it’s simple corrective exercises, stretches, yoga, etc. You need to do your best to stay on top of your fitness during the holidays, even if you’re only doing modified workouts.
Maybe instead of going for an hour-long run on the treadmill, you opt for a 20 minute walk around your block. Maybe rather than lifting weights for 45 minutes in the gym, you do a 10 minute modified training session from home.
The idea is to just keep up the habit, so when the holidays are over, you can jump right back into your regular routine without missing a beat.
-
Family Activities
Family holiday activities are the perfect way to get more involved with your family’s health and fitness. In addition to that, this is also a great way to bond with your loved ones and catch up on what’s been going on in each other’s lives.
You could go tobogganing, have a snowball fight, go skating, bake Christmas cookies, or even just do something simple like play a board game together. These types of family activities can be great for your mental health, as the bonding helps to recharge your emotional batteries that have most likely been drained by work responsibilities and other obligations.
